PATIENT MAL-TREATMENT IN NIGERIA HEALTH INSTITUTIONS

Hello Reader I was moved to write this article as a result of my own observation and personal experiences. It is unfortunate that those who should speak up for such injustice because they are at the benefiting end of the situation keep mute until they become victims of conditions they have supported over the years. Does it not strike you as odd that in Government Institutions like the Medical centers that the patients who are pivot of the institution most times are considered least. The patients are provided with very uncomfortable hard benches or chairs to sit and wait for hours while the Doctors and nurses are provided with executive seats.
The Emergency clinics are not always equipped with comfortable beds. The Entire staff and Management of Federal medical centers are usually concerned about their comfort, allowances and pay, The patients are pushed around from one place to another. This however is not the case in every Government Hospital or every hospital staff but I want those who are employed and paid well to serve the sick to at least do it with decorum. Most times these proud staffs shout at these helpless patients over simple inquiries. There is a lot of pride observable in our health institutions. It is best that we who serve the public do our best to be very humble so that God will reward us accordingly.
